Suggested Class Supply List

These materials are what I use and a guideline only. You have the option to bring to class whatever materials you would normally use.

Surface: Pre-stretched canvas, Masonite panel, Paper coated with binder, or canvas board are all fine. Surface is up to the student. Bring 4-6, no larger than 8x10".

Acrylic Paint: Used for toning canvas. If you wish to tone in oil you may, but the surface must be completely dry by the time class starts.

Raw Umber
Yellow Ochre

You may just bring Black and White oil paint if you are a beginner.

Any of the below listed colors besides Black and White are optional

Sap Green
Burnt Sienna
Burnt Umber
Raw Umber Green Shade (Windsor & Newton)

Cobalt Blue (Optional) or Ultramarine Blue (Optional)

Brushes:
Assorted Bristle Filbert and Flat Brushes
Princeton 4050R #4, #3, and #2 Watercolor Brushes (at least two).
I also like the Princeton 4050S stroke 1/4 flat brush
Fan Brush size 12
I prefer to work on a grey toned palette
Odorless Mineral Spirits (Gamsol is the best)
Linseed Oil
