Laura Paray teaches the children's
class starting at age 5. The class concentrates on still
life, landscape and self-portraiture and emphasizes how
light interacts with the subject. Laura started at the
Ridgewood Art Institute when she was a child herself and
has continued through the years taking time off to raise
three boys. During her years with the Ridgewood Art Institute,
she studied traditional oil painting techniques primarily
with John P. Osborne and Arthur F. Maynard.
She is currently an assistant teacher at a local nursery school and sits on the Board of Trustees of the Ridgewood Art Institute. Laura graduated Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rutgers University and has also studied at the Art Students League in New York City. She has exhibited at the Ridgewood Art Institute, Lyme Art Association, Essex Art Association (ESS Special Prize in 2008) and Maine Art Gallery.
