Laura Paray teaches the children's
class starting at age 7. The class concentrates on still
life, landscape and self-portraiture and emphasizes how
light interacts with the subject. Laura started at the
Ridgewood Art Institute when she was a child herself and
has continued through the years taking time off to raise
three boys. During her years with the Ridgewood Art Institute,
she studied traditional oil painting techniques primarily
with John P. Osborne and Arthur F. Maynard.
She sits on the Board of Trustees of the Ridgewood Art Institute and has co-chaired The Art of the Self-Portrait Show. Laura graduated Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rutgers University and has also studied at the Art Students League in New York City. She has exhibited and been awarded at Audubon Artist, Inc., Essex Art Association and the Ridgewood Art Institute and has shown at the Lyme Art Association, Wethersfield Academy for the Arts, and Maine Art Gallery.
